Nursery/Childcare

Children of all ages are welcome in our worship. For parents who choose, nursery care is offered during the 10:00 a.m. service for young children through 4 years of age. All attendants have had satisfactory background checks and their references have been verified. Also all are certified in the Diocese of East Carolina “Safe-Guarding God’s Children” training. For more information, ask an usher.

Children’s Chapel

There is also a “Children’s Chapel” during the 10:00 a.m. service for children kindergarten to 4th grade. These children follow the children’s cross during the sequence hymn before the Gospel and depart the sanctuary.  They have their own time for bible lessons.  They return to the service just prior to the Eucharist.

Acolytes

The word acolyte means “follower” or “attendant.” An acolyte assists the priest and other ministers during the service to help make things run smoothly. An acolyte can assist in worship by carrying a processional cross, lighting candles, holding the Gospel book, holding candles or “torches”, assisting a deacon or priest set up and clean up at the altar, handing the offering plates to ushers, and many other tasks as seen fit by the priest. Acolytes are usually youth but may be an adult. If interested in participating in this ministry, please contact Deacon Carol.
