Inreach

While Outreach gives our parish an opportunity to work in the community, Inreach focuses on providing support to our new and current members.

Parish Life

Parish Life is a Ministry at Saint Andrew’s which strives to develop an active parish with open arms and generous hearts towards all who visit or worship with us. Through ongoing activities and special events we seek to encourage a deeper sense of Christian community that includes people of all ages and interests. After every 10AM service we have coffee hour with light snacks and lemonade. Every 3rd Wednesday of the month, we hold a potluck supper in the parish hall.

Buildings and Grounds Committee

Besides the people, the Buildings and Grounds of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church is our most beautiful resource. Our goal is to give glory to God in the care and use of our beautiful building and our church yard. We have a Memorial Garden with Columbarium, and our Playground was blessed and dedicated in 2011 by former Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church, The Right Rev. Frank Griswold. The members of this committee are women and men who have graciously answered the call to maintain the physical structures of our church. This includes everything from changing light bulbs to doing light construction tasks. If you are interested in joining the Buildings and Grounds Committee, please contact Page Dobson (page.dobson@gmail.com).

Daughters of the King

The Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK) was established in 1885 in The Episcopal Church and is the only Spiritual Order for lay women in the Episcopal Church. It is a group of women, trying to implement confirmation their vows to “pray, work and give for the spread of Christ’s Kingdom” by becoming members of a spiritual Order for lay and adopting a Rule of Life based on Prayer and Service. The St. Andrew’s chapter was established in October 2016. The DOK meet once a month to replenish their commitment and add prayers for those who have requested. If you have a special prayer request, please feel free to confide in either Deacon Carol Eaton, Emily Roderick, Kim Livingston, or Kit Williamson. The DOK members will be praying for you daily.

Garden Guild

The purpose of the Garden Guild is to maintain the lovely grounds at St. Andrews. Most Saturdays, you will find Garden Guild members planting flowers, pulling weeds, trimming bushes, and pressure washing sidewalks among other tasks. If you are interested in joining the Garden Guild, please contact Lela Faye Rich.

Love Ministries

Through writing love notes to those who may be sick or experiencing a hard time, sending love boxes to college students, and visitation to those who are homebound or in the nursing home, we strive to care for our members through all seasons of life. If you are interested in helping or know someone whose day we could brighten, contact Debbie Butcher.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care is the ministry of caring at the heart of the church’s life. It may include hospital visitation, counseling, and ministries of shared presence, listening, and support. It consists of parish ministries of clergy and laity who respond to human need. This includes Martha’s Guild, a group responsible for coordination of funeral services. If interested in assisting in the Pastoral Care Ministry, contact either Debbie Butcher or Fr. John Pollock. If you or someone you know needs Pastoral Care, please contact Fr. John Pollock.
